I was impressed by the make. It could be detached from and attached onto the ball joint by moving a spring band off its place as you see in the photo below. The only tool needed was simply one minus driver.

Printing Revived.
(Installed on 2021/11/02, No.295)

For about two months I had been unable to drive my epson printer with my Windows10 pc. Printing revived at last. The measure I took was the uninstallment of one of the Windows10 update programs. It was 'Feature Update to Windows10 20H2 via Enablement Package [KB4562B30]', which is marked in blue in the photo.
The way back to the revival had been long. I vaguely remember the trouble started after a bit longer automatic updating by microsoft into my windows10 pc. I read many reports over the net about the remedy and tried some measures which seemed relevant. Unfortunately none was successful. I downgraded one of my windows10 pc's to windows7 and knew the printer is OK. So I finally decided to cleanly install windows10 to the pc giving myself the last grace to take the measure of uninstalling all the updates programs.... The first one hit! What a luck. I decided I close my pc to microsoft updating.

Trimming Of Our Graveyard Hedge.
(Installed on 2021/10/21, No.294)

I trimmed the hedge of our graveyard. This was the last job among the three autumnal big ones. Two other ones were the lopping about which I had reported the other day and the ditch cleaning.
I had finished the last one on Sept.26. It was earlier and we still had hot days and I picked up a cloudy day for this job. I could escape the heat but it rained, a very light one though.

It was advised by the man who made it as I reported the improvement of the sound consequently brought by the changes of power feeders. He incidentally killed AFC function. It improved the L-R separation as shown in the graphs above. My impression is that the sound obviously improved in clarity.

muku tree 2021.jpg Availing myself of the good weather during the last week(Oct.4 to 7) I lopped off the branches of our bigger trees in our yard. It took 4 days including shredding the branches. I could safely finish the work but I broke a blade of the electric handsaw. I was too fatigued it seemed. The work has becoming the trial of my physical limits every year! I'm planning to cut down the boughs in the higher positions duing this or the next week.

Playing a midi keyboard through a Windows pc.
(Installed on 2021/09/21, No.290)

midiberry window.jpg We have a keyboard which has an usb midi terminal. Out of curiousity I connected it to my pc. The keyboard was recognized by Windows but the pc didn't respond to my pressing keys. I didn't know midi signals(data) need a software to work between the signals and the sound source. Also I learned such softwares are called DAW softwares used for DTM.
However they seem to be too complicated(integrated). So I searched for a simple one and came to MIDIberry. It was poorly reviewed but I installed and tried it. It worked. My pc responded to pressed keys. The sound satisfied my curiosity.

As a temporary measure I made a magnifying adjuster which is easy to put over as well as to put off from my glasses utilizing the pieces of magnet which my glasses had for the dark glasses. I made it from a pair of magnifying glasses I bought at a 100-yen shop near by. The photo above shows my glasses(top), the proccessed magnifying glasses(middle) and my glasses equipped with the adjuster. It improved the situation! I can put off buying new glasses.

20081077pub near gesthouse.jpg (The photo was taken in 2008 at a pub near the guest house they stayed.)
A few days ago I happened to find a Facebook account was gone. It was the accout of an important friend of ours. The most recent messages we exchanged were the New Year greetings. We tried but not a clue we found when and why the account was closed.
This person happened to stay for a few days at the same guest house in London where our late son had been staying. Several years later soon after our son had died this person knew of his death through Facebook. The person even came to visit his grave and became an important friend of ours.
Talking about our son who died of cancer the friend once mentined about the cancer treatment of one's own. The person quietly closed the accout. Supposition grows worse. The person might have thought many times before closing it quietly. It is painful to think how it was difficult for the person to do it. It grieves us too. We respect the decision.
Now we are thankful for the short but warm friendship. We treasure the memories to ourselves.

A little while ago a friend of mine gave me a dac(ONKYO DAC-HA200). I had dacs already but I tried to set this extra dac with my pc for listening to classic music exclusively. Alas! It didn't respond. Windows explain you can assign a particular software to each sound device. It took time and patience before it responded when I finally changed the mode of Foobar2000 from 'event' to 'push'. It's said event mode is totally better than push mode in sound quality but I made a compromise with it. Again I thank my friend again for the dac.

Tomohiro's Little Playground.
(Installed on 2021/2/18, No.265)

This Feb.19th is the fifth aniversary of Tomohiro's death. I visited the small memorable children's playground. tomohiro's play ground.jpg
When he was very young we went out for a family recreation to a nearby riverside spot. On our way back home, as the sun was still higher, we dropped at the playground by the bank. After staying there for some time I told children that we start for home when Tomohiro protested. He said, "No! I want to stay here and play more."
It was a summer day and the ground was bordered with the thick shade of trees in my memories. Now I found a new house built adjacent to the place and there was no thick shade of trees. It was a cold day snowing off and on. Nevertheless I gave myself to the fond memories of my children playing there.

regza win7 installed.jpg
A 64-bit Core I7 desktop with a built-in digital TV tuner suddenly joined in my pc's. It had been left untouched for many months because I mistook it for merely a pc monitor. My wife brought it home saying she was given a monitor and a keyboad from a friend of her whose husband, being old, abandoned using it. I thought I had enough monitors and didn't pay proper attention to it.
Three days ago, accidentally I peeped into the plastic bag and was caught by the letters "REGZA PC D712/2012 Summer Model" and "Core I7." I had no pc's with Core I7.
I turned on the switch. What appeared on the screen were the messages to promt me to insert any proper media to boot. It had been properly treated for dispositon. So I installed Windows7 of which I was a licensee and upgraded it to Windows10. The upgrading proceeded rather smoothly and became the fastest pc among mine. I'm planning to use it hang on a wall.
